If, like me, you agree watches primary function are to tell the time and look good doing it, here's 3 picks for affordable automatics that never require phone sync, constant charging etc.
1) From Russia with Love (Vostok)
Not to be confused with Vostok Europe, this is the OG Russian brand of automatic watches (spelled Boctok). The company was appointed an official supplier of watches for the Ministry of Defence of the Soviet Union in 1965. This year also marks the creation of the well known Komandirskie ("Commander's") watch.
Fun and original, so go check it out. Shipping out of Russia might take some time though, so be patient. Downside is no Singapore service centre.
2) From the Orient (RN-AC0002B)
Beautiful dress watches, personally I reckon it looks easily 10x the price. Especially paired with brown strap, have fun putting it next to Girard Perregaux 1966.
The international version from Orient is made in Malaysia or China, but I've personally not had any quality issues.

3) Homage Royal Oak (China)
Stainless steel bracelet? Check. Sapphire crystal? Check. Automatic and beautiful? Double check. Now what if I told you it's 1000x more affordable? 🤯
Introducing Pagani Design! If your wrist is bigger, Casiden makes a good version too. Check them out on AliExpress. Sadly, no service centre yet for either but at this price point, I think that still makes Sense.
